Angela H. Sanders is a Principal whose practice focuses on representing employers in the full range of employment law matters. Her clients come from a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, construction, landscaping, professional services, and health care (continuing care retirement communities, long-term care, home health agencies).

Angela leads the firm’s Occupational Safety and Health Practice Group, representing employers through the OSHA enforcement and regulatory process. She assists clients with OSHA compliance, providing advice on a variety of workplace safety and health requirements, including injury and illness prevention, workplace accidents, severe injury reporting, safety and health policies, safety audits, recordkeeping, and inspection response preparedness. If OSHA inspectors arrive unannounced, or if a workplace fatality or serious injury has occurred, Angela is her clients’ first phone call for guidance in addressing the situation. She is thoroughly versed in the inspection and enforcement process, and has substantial experience in negotiating and resolving citations and penalties, and managing abatement. Angela also provides on-site support to employers following workplace accidents, including catastrophic incidents, severe injuries, and fatalities.

As a member of the firm’s Employment and Labor Practice Group, Angela provides day-to-day counseling to employers on a wide range of employment topics, including wage and hour issues, FMLA compliance, harassment and discrimination, hiring, employee misconduct, discipline and termination, drug and alcohol abuse, collective bargaining, and labor relations. She also assists clients in developing employment contracts, employee handbooks and workplace policies, and conducts employee training on topics such as discrimination and harassment prevention and performance management. In doing so, Angela has helped clients avoid litigation and enforcement proceedings. Angela also serves as labor counsel to municipalities, advising on labor-relations matters and representing municipalities in collective bargaining negotiations and grievance arbitration.

In addition to employment counseling, Angela represents employers before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC), Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, and Unemployment Compensation Board of Review. Angela also represents nursing home administrators and directors of nursing before their respective licensing boards in connection with Immediate Jeopardy citations.

Angela is a member of the Lancaster Safety Council and the Lancaster Society for Human Resources Managers. She regularly speaks on employment law and occupational health and safety to employers, businesses, and professional and industry groups.
