William F. Buckman is an Associate in the firm's Professional Liability Department. He focuses his practice on the defense of medical malpractice matters, advising hospitals, doctors, long-term care facilities, and nursing homes in medical malpractice cases.
Prior to joining Post & Schell, Mr. Buckman was an Assistant District Attorney in the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit of the Chester County District Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted a wide range of complex criminal cases – from drug trafficking and wiretap investigations to attempted homicides and white-collar crimes. His work included collaboration with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and extensive trial experience, including jury trials and multi-defendant conspiracy cases.
Mr. Buckman has litigated numerous pretrial and post-trial motions and is well-versed in Pennsylvania’s Wiretap Act and other investigative tools. He has also led investigations into drug delivery resulting in death cases, maintaining close communication with victims’ families throughout the legal process.
Mr. Buckman is a former legal assistant and law clerk at a Philadelphia-based firm that specialized in catastrophic personal injury and medical malpractice. He also interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law and holds dual undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating summa cum laude.
