Post & Schell Elects Eight New Principals in the Firm's Casualty, Environmental, Insurance Law, Professional Liability, and Workers' Compensation Practices


Philadelphia, PA – June 20, 2019 – Post & Schell, P.C. is pleased to announce that eight of the Firm’s Associates have been elected as Principals:

  • Marisa Barriere is now a Principal in the Firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department in its Philadelphia, PA office.
  • Marni S. Berger is now a Principal in the Firm’s Insurance Law Department in its Philadelphia, PA office.
  • Jeffrey M. Brenner is now a Principal in the Firm’s Insurance Law Department in its Philadelphia, PA office.
  • Matthew B. Daggett is now a Principal in the Firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department in its Lancaster, PA office.
  • Angela G. DiSanti is now a Principal in the Firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department in its Pittsburgh, PA office.
  • Lindsay S. Kift is now a Principal in the Firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department in its Pittsburgh, PA office.
  • Aaron S. Mapes is now a Principal in the Firm’s Environmental Practice Group in its Philadelphia, PA office.
  • Mariel C. Marsh is now a Principal in the Firm’s Professional Liability and Casualty Departments in its Philadelphia, PA office.

  • Ms. Barriere represents employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation proceedings throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She has successfully litigated matters before Workers’ Compensation Judges and the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board.
  • Ms. Berger represents insurers in all facets of complex commercial litigation and coverage disputes involving the interpretation and meaning of critical language under contractual liability agreements, as well as litigation involving alleged bad faith. Her practice includes commercial general liability, commercial and personal automobile, disability, employers’ liability, disability/health, and other policies of insurance.
  • Mr. Brenner represents national and regional insurers in life and disability insurance in the ERISA context as well as novel annuity and structured settlement disputes. His ERISA litigation practice focuses on defending matters involving sophisticated preemption issues; fiduciary issues; fiduciary misrepresentation claims; prohibited transactions; Section 510 cases; benefit claims and challenges to health plans. As coverage counsel, he is actively involved in the consulting and litigation of complex coverage and bad faith disputes involving all commercial lines, including commercial general liability (CGL), commercial crime, commercial property, business owner’s policies (BOP), errors and omissions (E&O), and employer’s liability (EL) policies.
  • Mr. Daggett represents employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation proceedings throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He has extensive experience appearing before workers’ compensation judges and the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board. He is actively involved in all phases of litigation from the filing of the Claim Petition through the appeals process.
  • Ms. DiSanti represents employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation proceedings throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  This includes defending clients before Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Judges, as well as litigating before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. She also has experience litigating before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
  • Ms. Kift represents employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation proceedings throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She has extensive experience litigating cases to final decision before Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Judges, as well as aggressively negotiating reasonable settlements for her clients.
  • Mr. Mapes counsels clients on a wide-variety of environmental matters, including environmental diligence for real estate transactions and energy infrastructure projects, brownfields redevelopment, compliance with environmental laws, environmental permitting, and litigation of complex environmental lawsuits and administrative appeals.
  • Ms. Marsh represents clients in complex litigation including claims involving medical malpractice, professional liability, products liability, and premises liability, among others. She has extensive experience in all phases of litigation and has presented arguments on motions, at court conferences, arbitration hearings, and trial.
