Patrice Toland Appointed as Trustee of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation


Philadelphia, PA – May 4, 2021 – Post & Schell, P.C. is pleased to announce that Workers’ Compensation Principal Patrice “Puddy” Toland has been appointed as a Trustee of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation. As a Trustee, Ms. Toland will utilize her knowledge and experience to help the Bar Foundation advance its mission of equal access to justice and develop Equal Justice Center projects in Philadelphia.

Through programs, grants, and partnerships, the Philadelphia Bar Foundation removes barriers to justice, engages the community in support of civil legal aid, and builds system-wide capacity in order to strengthen the provision of quality legal services and to ensure that all individuals understand their rights to equal justice under law. The Foundation recently launched a number of exploratory projects for the Equal Justice Center that support enhanced virtual legal aid collaboration and support a deliberate commitment to centering racial justice at the core of its work.

Ms. Toland dedicates her practice to the defense of employers in workers' compensation cases in Pennsylvania. In addition to litigating claims, she assists her clients in developing best practices to prevent liability and to reach favorable resolutions when necessary. She is a frequent lecturer to the industry on current topics in this area. Her client base includes large international corporations in the health care, maintenance, retail, and transportation industries.

She has been an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, serving as the liaison for her firm in 1999 and serving on several different committees and sections. In 2019, the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section honored her with the Martha J. Hampton Award.

Ms. Toland has been recognized with numerous other honors, including 2018 Best Law Firm Mentor by The Legal Intelligencer and a 2021 Lawyer of the Year in the Workers’ Compensation Law – Employers category by The Best Lawyers in America™.
