Jessica McHugh is a seasoned legal and operations executive with nearly two decades of experience in law firm and corporate settings. As Chief Operating Officer, she leads the firm’s operational strategy and oversees key business functions, including finance, IT, human resources, and office services. She works closely with the President & CEO and the Board of Directors to guide strategic planning and firm direction and serves as an ex-officio member of the firm’s Compensation Committee.
Before joining the firm, Jessica served as Director of Practice Management at an AmLaw 100 law firm headquartered in Philadelphia, where she oversaw strategic planning, budgeting, talent development, and business operations for the Intellectual Property Department. Her leadership was instrumental in implementing firm-wide policies, integrating lateral hires, and enhancing client service delivery.
Prior to her work in legal administration Jessica worked as a practicing attorney – first in private practice at a top AmLaw firm and then holding senior legal roles in house at a top e-commerce retailer. Having experienced practice life both within a law firm and as an in-house client, Jessica brings a unique perspective to her role that allows her to focus on honing administrative support to enhance practice capabilities and deliver the highest level of client service.
A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law, Ms. McHugh earned her J.D. with honors and holds a B.A. in Theatre and English. A recognized thought leader in intellectual property and legal operations, she is a frequent speaker on industry panels and an active member of professional organizations including the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) and ChIPs, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing women in technology, law, and policy.
