Bio
Donald N. Camhi is Senior Counsel in the firm's Professional Liability Defense Department. For approximately 40 years, Mr. Camhi has defended healthcare providers and institutions in high-profile cases involving catastrophic injuries, complex fact patterns, and alleged medical malpractice and has tried well over 100 cases to verdict. In addition to completing his existing caseload, Mr. Camhi now serves as a privately retained mediator providing parties with timely and cost-effective solutions for complex legal disputes. In addition, he serves as Settlement Counsel, representing parties in settlement negotiations to help facilitate out-of-court resolution of legal disputes.
Mr. Camhi’s practice includes the handling of cases tried to verdict by other firms that require creative resolution strategies. He also provides risk management advice to chief executive officers, risk managers, claims coordinators, and nursing supervisors. As Co-Chair of the Professional Liability Defense Practice Group, Mr. Camhi spends a substantial amount of time mentoring the firm’s junior attorneys.
From 2004 through 2024, his peers recognized Mr. Camhi as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer as published in Philadelphia Magazine. From 2009 - 2015, 2018 - 2019, and 2022, he was named a Top 100 Philadelphia Area Super Lawyer and in 2009 - 2011, 2013 - 2014, 2018, and 2022, Mr. Camhi was named a Top 100 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer, following statewide voting and review by a special panel. In 2012, 2013, and 2014 he was also listed in Super Lawyers Business Edition.
