Catherine (“Katie”) G. Thorne is an Associate in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department. She focuses her practice on defending self-insured employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation litigation throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 

Ms. Thorne is a former criminal defense attorney with more than a decade of courtroom experience in Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Post & Schell, she served as an Assistant Public Defender in York County, where she represented clients in summary, misdemeanor, and felony matters and practiced in the Preliminary Hearing Unit. Ms. Thorne has extensive litigation experience, including motions practice, bench and jury trials, and appellate advocacy. She successfully obtained favorable verdicts and outcomes for clients in numerous cases.

Ms. Thorne earned her J.D. from Widener University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from The Pennsylvania State University, with a minor in Spanish.
