Where White Collar and Technology Law Overlap: Abe Rein Speaks on “AI-Enabled Fraud”
On October 22, 2025, Abe Rein, who chairs Post & Schell’s White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Group and the firm’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Group, spoke on “AI Enabled Fraud - Schemes and Risks.” The online presentation, which is available for on-demand streaming, was part of CBIZ’s Fifth Annual Compliance & Fraud Summit. Rein’s co-presenter was Jason Vogel, director of CBZI’s Forensic Consulting Group.
The presentation covered the many ways that AI threatens to make classic fraud schemes trivial to pull off and easy to scale to unprecedented levels. Rein offered a detailed discussion of the federal government’s approach to AI-related enforcement, offering multiple examples of prosecutions and other enforcement actions that illustrate what we can expect in this space in the coming years.
