Jessica Colliver Serves as a Faculty Member on a PBI CLE Webinar Examining the "New Normal" of Pre-Trial Practice in Pennsylvania on April 23

On April 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM ET, Jessica A. Colliver served as a faculty member on the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) CLE Webinar, "Pre-Trial Practice in Pennsylvania 2021."

Pre-trial practice was already ever-evolving. But now, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, lawyers must further adjust their strategies. The staples of pretrial practice — pleadings, motions to dismiss, case management, discovery — had already become significant in the pre-COVID world. Now, they are even more crucial components of litigation.

Ms. Colliver joined a faculty of experienced plaintiffs’ and defense attorneys, trial consultant, case manager, mediators and arbitrators, and others as they reviewed what lawyers need to know to succeed at this increasingly important stage of litigation. The presentation covered, among other topics:

  • History of pre-trial practice
  • Technology and best practices
  • Dealing with the impact of COVID and the post-COVID protocols
  • Case management
  • Discovery court
  • Judge Pro Tempore settlement
