White Collar Principal Peter Hardy Serves on Criminal Tax/IRS Panels at ABA Section of Taxation 2015 May Meeting

On May 8 and 9, Internal Investigations & White Collar Defense Principal Peter D. Hardy served on two panel discussions at the American Bar Association's (ABA) Section of Taxation 2015 May Meeting in Washington, D.C.
The May 8 panel, “A Look Inside an IRS Criminal Tax Investigation," discussed the basic of how the IRS and the DOJ pursue criminal tax investigations. The May 9 panel, “IRS Seizure and Forfeiture: A New Day, or More of the Same," explored changes to the policies of the IRS and the DOJ regarding forfeiture for structuring offenses, and how these changes may affect day-to-day enforcement.
The mission of the ABA Section of Taxation is to serve its members and the public by providing education about taxes and tax systems, and by providing leadership to support the development of an equitable, efficient and workable tax system.
